Welcome to Boulia State School.
Boulia State School was officially opened in 1889 and is located in the Mount Isa District. The town lies some 300km south of Mount Isa. Currently 42 students attend the primary and preschool, 86% of whom are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
The Boulia Shire Council is the main employer within the town. Surrounding rural industries also contribute to the productivity of Boulia.
The town itself, situated on the Burke River has a growing population of about 350 people, 60% of whom are Aboriginal.
As Principal, I am very pleased to welcome you to our Boulia State School website. I hope that you find this site informative and interesting. We are very proud of our school, staff and students and believe we have created a very inviting school, which offers quality educational programs for all students.
